God Moons America

A rare supermoon, blood moon and blue moon over Washington, DC

by Don Clasen

Feb. 12, 2018,

Honest Abe’s Birthday

I don’t count myself to be a superstitious person, nor one given to reading too much into coincidences and circumstances. But did God moon America just now? For the second time in two months something has taken place that could truly be taken as an omen or a sign from the Almighty. The first I mentioned in the last article when Los Angeles was on fire the very moment the President was announcing the US embassy move to Jerusalem. As I tried to explain, his decision was yet another milestone of sorts in this decades-long mutual suicide pact the US and Israel seem dead set on pursuing.

The second happened recently, just hours after Donald Trump’s 2018 State of the Union speech, a rare combination of a blue moon, a super moon, and a red or “blood” moon. A blue moon takes place when two full moons fall within a calendar month (Jan 1 and 31). A super moon happens when the moon’s orbit comes the closest it can to the earth before drifting back outward again. It can take place when the moon is new or full, and when full gives the illusion of being inordinately large. A red moon or a “blood” moon refers to a full eclipse, a perfect alignment of the sun, moon and earth such that the earth’s shadow completely blocks out the moon’s normal light.

To say that a combination of all three at once is rare is putting it mildly, though you can interpret the meaning of it as you will. You could string it all together and take it as a play on words, a “super blue blood moon” symbolizing the uber triumph of blue blood elites, defeated in the American Revolution (as the Tories) but who in the Age of Trump have finally gotten their revenge on this common man revolt.

Or you could take its constituent parts to consider the symbolic implications. A blue moon would certainly be an apt description of the hearts of 90% of the earth at the sight of this charlatan as he goes about merrily inverting all reality and destroying the best in our traditions and institutions.

As for a super moon, perhaps you can take that as something of a Divine putdown, kind of like God “dropping trou” on America, mocking us and especially the Evangelicals whose support for this man made this mess possible. As we said, it’s an event when the moon appears yuge, y-u-u-uge!, something I’m sure our Commander Guy would interpret as Divine approval of his oratorical abilities.[i]

And a blood moon? Well that’s like, so Biblical, apocalyptic and ominous, as in “a harbinger of things to come” (Rev 6:12; Lu 21:25,26). When it comes to the ominous, the Bible is a little bit paradoxical here. On the one hand, we are not to be dismayed at signs in the heavens the superstitious way the heathen are (Jer 10:2). On the other, the events at the end of the age are so momentous, the significance of the Second Coming of the Messiah so important, that they are singled out by holy men in the Bible as a special case in and of themselves (Joel 2:30,31; Luke 21:11,26; Rev 6:12).

Up Is Down And Down Is Up

Time will tell if this was a watershed moment. If it is a kind of inverse symbolism of the good fortune for the world that the conjunction of planets and stars accompanying Christ’s birth proclaimed (Mt 2:1-10), is it a heralding of the coming of the Antichrist? He seems to want the job badly enough.

All I know is that this took place at a time when it seems the upside down mentality of Donald Trump, reality TV star, has succeeded in demon possessing his own political party. The sight of Republicans spending the night bouncing up and down like Mexican jumping beans (if Mexicans will forgive the insult), cheering and singing the praises of this man as he took credit for things he didn’t accomplish, brag about policies that will prove disastrous, and shamelessly wrap himself in the flag of patriotism, was a moment I’ve been dreading, when people start to actually believe the malarkey this guy is peddling.

As if to prove my point, he later had the gall to tell a Congressman as he was leaving that he was “100%” going to release the devious, FBI-defaming Nunes memo, a memo he hadn’t even read yet and may have had a hand in crafting himself.[ii] Then with stunning hutzpah charged the Democrats with treason would you believe, for not clapping, doing Standing O’s, back flips and showing due deference to the obvious Greatness before them.

Senator and retired Lt. Colonel Tammy Duckworth, the first female double amputee of the Iraq War had a great retort via Twitter of all places:

We don’t live in a dictatorship or a monarchy. I swore an oath—in the military and in the Senate—to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, not to mindlessly cater to the whims of Cadet Bone Spurs and clap when he demands I clap.”[iii]

Ouch. And from a woman no less! That must hurt.Senator Tammy Duckworth, double amputee of Iraq War

But of course, unflappable and shameless as ever, none of it stuck. In fact he went on to order the Pentagon to organize a military parade, a move roundly booed by almost everyone. But they’re still complying with the order. Why? They’re being Trumpified.[iv]

Why Do We Assume A Happy Ending To All This?

Every morning I wake up and ask myself, “Why is this man still in the White House? Where are the peasants with pitchforks when you need them? Why doesn’t someone haul him off and throw him in the clapper where he’s belonged since the 1970s?”

Oh that’s right, we have something called due process in this country. I just hope it doesn’t turn into a suicide pact because people with a revenge fetish like Donald Trump will never reciprocate such gentlemanly standards. As mentor and mob architect Roy Cohn taught him, all such things are for schlemiels (suckers, fools). He despises due process along with all law, order or tradition. All his life he’s had contempt for these things, being entitled by his inherent superior-ness to not having to play by them.

Although I’ve found it very encouraging, even inspiring to see how much the American people have been fighting back since his Inaugural, I am still concerned too many don’t see this is like playing with fire. They have this naïve faith that “somehow things will work out.” “Mueller will nail him,” they say, yet he and 75% of his party now seem to be conspiring to prepare everyone for the firing of Rosenstein and Mueller. Their high-handedness is just breath-taking (II Tim 3:4). “2018 will save us.” Yet the Democrats are again ignoring their base and struggling to raise money while it’s pouring into Republicans’ coffers from delighted oligarchs.

The Dems haven’t even begun to deal with the new ethical questions regarding manipulation of the electorate brought about by the advent of Cambridge Analytics-style micro-targeting of voters.[v] And when it comes to subverting the next election, why would the Russians not be delighted at all this chaos, seeing our CIA has been trying so hard for years now to overthrow Putin (and so many other nations) by color coded election subversion?

As for the clueless Israelis, well they just don’t understand how their man the Donald could be their complete (and well-deserved) undoing. If none of the above works, they could always pull off another major terrorist attack to help him consolidate power. Or he could get us into a war that would push everything else off the front page.

By any measure it’s an incredibly volatile situation, one that reminds me of the immortal words of Jeff Goldblum in one of the Jurassic Park sequels: “Oh yeah, it all starts out with Oooo!, and Ahhh!, and then comes the running, and the screaming, and the biting…”

God Moons America

Even the lawyers are getting nervous now.

Thing’s Do Not Go Better With Koch!

All last year former officials, leakers and politicians were constantly confiding to members of the press how much Republicans in Congress hated what Donald Trump was doing to the country, to the Constitution, to the White House, to our reputation around the world. They lamented his tweets, his personal attacks, his viciousness, his vulgarian ways. Yet now they seem to have fallen right in line behind him. The question is why?

Part of it was explained by that notorious taxaphobe Grover Norquist of “drown government in a bathtub” fame some years ago. In addressing his fellow conservatives at a CPAC conference he told them not to worry about Mitt Romney’s competence. All they needed was a Republican “with enough working digits to handle a pen to become president of the United States…to sign the legislation that has already been prepared.”[vi] And boy, no one but no one has five available digits quite like the Trumpster.

The Koch Brothers. God Moons America

A couple of real nice guys.

This inspirational strategy is traceable straight back to the infamous Koch Brothers who hide their insatiable greed and idolatry (Col 3:5) behind a pseudo, high-minded veneer of “libertarian” philosophy. I remember maybe four or five years ago reading that each brother was worth a cool $22 billion and wondered what kind of people would be unsatisfied with that but driven for even more no matter how much pain and suffering it costs the rest of the country? I found out the other night. According to the latest Forbes 400 list, they’re each now worth $96.6 billion, a 400% increase.

What’s in your wallet?

The winner-take-all economy chart, 1979-2007

The winner-take-all economy chart, 1979-2007. After 28 years of Reaganomics, the red line is the top 1%, the yellow, the top 20%. All the rest have lost ground.

So how’s all that Trickle Down working out for ya?

And that was before the windfall the Republicans’ recent tax bill dropped in their lap. I’m sure that, like the Trump family, it amounted to at least another cool $ billion for the Trumps because like you know, they really need it, and were generous enough to flip Speaker Paul Ryan a chump change $500,000 out the door. I’m sure those CEOs are going to spend it on hiring people as we were promised, and besides our Sir Galahad Republicans needed something, anything to run on as they openly admitted.

Insincerely of course, since that tax bill was polling at around 15% popularity. So this was nothing more than a open payback to their masters. This ignoble redistribution of the people’s wealth upwards they of course could not stop crowing about because they love to glory in their shame (Phil 3:19) in this, the end of the age (II Tim 3:1-7).[vii]

I suppose we do too. The Koch Brothers epitomize the situation God forewarned about in James 5:1-6 regarding the last days rich, but 80% of Church people couldn’t care less. It’s one more example of my complaint about Bible-believing Christians—their contempt for the Bible. They think they understand it but they don’t. And I’m not just talking about awareness of the last days prophecies here. It’s their understanding of what this concentration of wealth at the top represents. They are so conditioned to hate any criticism from “the left” that they give a lame reply like, “America is too materialistic as it is.”

But that’s not the point. The point is that these mega rich don’t want their enormous wealth so they can buy more consumer goods but to amass a huge war chest for political policies designed to completely impoverish people like you and me. In a fallen world money is power.

You would think “conservatives” would be attached to conserving the American Revolution, not the cause of the defeated Tories. But now they are naively supporting a neo-feudalism the Tories could only dream of. The Koch Network of the mega wealthy now has 28 red states on board to call for a new Constitutional Convention. They only need six more and they can make that dream (nightmare) come true. And who will the American public blame? The Church people.

Before long the Constitution will have to be changed from, “We the people” (way too socialist) to “We the oligarchs, in order to form a more perfect feudalism.” It’s the Kochs who underwrite ALEC, the high-minded-sounding American Legislative Exchange Council where entire bills designed to “dismantle the administrative state” as Steve Bannon so charmingly put it, are crafted for the convenience of harried Congress members, increasingly distracted with fund raising to find the time to study the issues. And if that’s not enough, the Republicans are always there to make sure there’s never any hearings where experts and critics can testify, and that seemingly in proportion to the importance of what they’re about to shove down the public’s throat. Rushing huge pieces of legislation through is a sign that more and more of them are simply opting to “let the Koch’s write it all” for them.

“Dismantling the administrative state” is the Lord’s kind of work wherein any government services that might actually benefit the lives of average citizens is sure to be destroyed. This works like slick magic to “deceive the hearts of the simple” (Ro 16:18), convincing them that “government doesn’t work,” that taxes only go to “welfare queens” anyway, so why waste your money? The goal is to privatize the government to a point where everything and everyone is now property, owned like slaves of The Chosen (Rev 18:13).[viii] It’s slower than stealing it outright as in a Communist revolution but eventually enslaves you just as thoroughly.

Busy Little Termites

Is it becoming clear how this Faustian Pact between Trump and Congressional Republicans works? The President and his White House are the daily soap opera, our Groundhog Day reality TV show. He’s the star, the carnival barker, the Buddhist monk who sets himself on fire everyday but is still there the next. His daily antics suck all the air out of the news cycle. While people can’t take their eyes off this unending spectacle, the real damage is taking place elsewhere, undetected and underreported.

How? First and foremost would be in the appointment of federal judges. The President is apparently setting new records when it comes to appointing federal judges, and you can be sure it’s not because he’s up on who his nominees are. The radical Federalist Society is handling all that for him; all they need are those precious Presidential digits to sign off on them with a flourish. The Society is there to make sure the money stays in politics so the Illuminated Chosen can put you all on a diet, impoverish you into submission, rub it in your faces or kill you off.

Is Donald Trump Running For The Office of Antichrist?

“Large writing means that we are before an arrogant person, conceited, haughty, who needs to exhibit compliments and recognitions, tyrant tendencies, exhibitionist and phony personality that may become megalomaniac with lack of a critical sense.” – (handwriting-graphology.com)

“‘President Trump has delivered on this issue, which was one of the primary reasons they voted for him,’ Penny Nance, president of the socially conservative Christian group Concerned Women for America, said in a statement.” Yes indeed Penny, that certainly was one of your “primary reasons.” And as with Paul Ryan, they will flip you a tip too, in your case, anti-abortion and sex-based rulings, usually much less than they promised of course, as long as they can walk out the door with the entire farm. Judges who will preserve rulings like the infamous Citizens United that keep unlimited amounts of money in politics is their first objective.

A watching world though wonders why enablers like the Evangelicals love the unborn so much then abandon them after they’re born? They get bombed and droned, have food and medical services ripped away from them, DACA protections turned into a political football, etc. Whatever is cruel and Pharisaical, no matter how much you call it tough love. Then you wonder why the world hates you. Then you whine you’re being persecuted!

It’s becoming more and more clear to the world that your goal is to defund the godless secular state so the needy are forced to come to the Church for help. But you can’t meet the need because you don’t have such an enormous amount of money; it’s all in the hands of your oligarchical idols and they’re not about to share it with you. And as if the trend were not difficult enough, this new tax bill is designed to reduce charitable contributions. This is how they’re playing you.

Like it or not, when the world thinks of Church people now, they think of a right wing political movement. If I were able to get anyone interested in the Gospel nowadays, I frankly don’t know where I’d send them. I can hardly get them to take a business card with my website on it once I tell them it’s about Bible prophecy issues, even as their world crumbles around them.

Criminals Hate Regulations

Second is a wholesale rollback of “regulations” that are persecuting our poor little Howard Roark “entrepreneur” billionaires. This is pretty simple. Criminals hate laws and love it when governments are too “drowned” if you will, to hire any investigators (for example) for expensive investigations. But they always like plenty of big government and find plenty of big money to hire plenty of big cops to crack the heads of the struggling poor when they want to be heard and protected. While the shackles are taken off the rich and powerful, you can be sure your life will become more regulated as discontent rises.[ix]

The Trump administration made a big deal of this, that they have “delivered” on this “promise.” One of his first acts in January of 2017 was to sign an executive order mandating that any new regulation of the federal government (specifically exempting the incredibly wasteful Pentagon of course) had to be accompanied by two old regulations being eliminated. He could have just drawn up an order that heads of agencies do a review of their regulations but no, it has to be according to the ideological slash and burn of a two-to-one formula.

Two things to note here. One, in reading this EO you can tell Donald Trump had nothing to do in drawing it up. It’s simple enough as EOs go but still way too much complexity for someone like him. This shows you the work of the ALEC-type “shadow government” working behind the scenes looking for those five magical digits. Two, in a “progress report” issued on Dec. 14, 2017, the White House crowed that the actual ratio turned out to be 22 to 1, saving a paltry $570 million per year in savings. They also announced plans to roll back another 1579 regulations in the coming fiscal year.

God knows how much money in legitimate fines and lawsuits the federal government could have made if those regulations were kept. And how do you compute the cost to you and your health when frackers for example, have more clout than people who have to drink and bathe with public water? By and large what’s on the books is anemic anyway compared to the tough laws we had by the end of the New Deal, neutered increasingly by each new wave of Gilded Age conservatism.

Subverting the mission of federal agencies he took an oath to faithfully administer. Donald Trump, ever contemptuous of the rubes who still think he’s their guy, seems to be going out of his way to appoint agency heads that are sworn enemies of that agency’s mission. Scott Pruitt, a lawyer who had been involved in 14 lawsuits against the EPA before being appointed as head over it is a prime example. He never goes anywhere without an armed guard, even in his office! Employees who meet with him have to empty their pockets. He has stocked top positions with anti-environmental ideologues who overrule experts in the agency and kowtow to the wishes of the country’s worst polluters.

I remember what life was back in 1970 before Richard Nixon founded the EPA. Los Angeles had such a blanket of thick yellow smog over it there was no way I could leave the Bay Area and live there (though I did try for three months.) Los Angeles smog, ca. 1970.The inlet to the Atlantic I had fished so many years in New Jersey was covered with scummy oil slicks. Since the end of World War II over 70,000 new chemicals have been released into the environment. Practically zero testing of long-term effects goes into these substances. For pharmaceutical drugs there can be 10 years or more before it’s approved, but not external substances that get inside of us eventually anyway.

Ditto the same with Rick Perry at the Department of Energy who proposed completely eliminating it during primary debates. He didn’t even know one of its most important missions was oversight of our nation’s nuclear arsenal. Or billionaire Besy DeVos at Education who wants to privatize our public school system as much as possible. All this will do is accelerate the balkanization of our society as people get ever more “compartmentalized educations”— job-specific curricula, no civics classes, etc.[x] Or Zionist Steve Mnuchin who made millions throwing homeowners out on the street during the mortgage meltdown of 2008, so of course Trump makes him Treasury Secretary. Or Mick Mulvaney, the know-nothing hack who is the White House Budget Director. He is out to totally eliminate the highly-popular Consumer Financial Protection Bureau which investigates consumer complaints and took in four times as much revenue in fines as it cost to run it last year. His latest accomplishment was to squash an investigation into how Equifax got hacked, a scandal that compromised the credit information of 143 million consumers.

A good source for details on this combination of sadism, incompetence, corporate priorities and penny-wise/pound-foolishness can be found in David Cay Johnston’s It’s Even Worse Than You Think: What The Trump Administration Is Doing To America (Jan.16, 2018). Johnston, a Pulitzer Prize winner has been the nation’s premier authority on Donald J. Trump since 1988. In it he details the damage this administration is doing to us beyond the stage lights of the White House/Congressional show. He likens the efforts of Trump’s appointees (and especially those whom they have brought with them) to that of termites eating away at our government, turning it into balsa wood.

Another great, even ground-breaking book exposing a sixty-year long campaign by the radical right to replace our Constitutional democratic republic with plutocracy (rule of the rich) is Democracy in Chains by professor Nancy MacLean. This book has received about 90 savage reviews by the leading lights of the right wing. The Koch Brothers in one of their frequent retreats told the crowd that this book was one of the most dangerous threats to their agenda they’ve ever seen, an endorsement that speaks for itself.

Indulging and transforming the Pentagon into an even more dangerous war monger. As was said, if there is any part of the federal budget riddled with waste and fraud, it has to be the military. I’ve got an entire chapter in my book American Babylon, American Antichrist called “The Military Beast” discussing how ridiculously over-bloated,  destructive and intrusive that part of the last days beast empire of Daniel 7:7 and 19 is.

Global map of US Pentagon command regions.

The entire earth, even the poles, divided up into seven US Command Regions.

Legendary for $7600 coffee makers, $640 toilet seats and $37 screws back in the Reagan era (how’s that for symbolic?) the Pentagon is still a cesspool of exploitation of the US taxpayer. Supplied by no less than 108,000 vendors including defense contractors (!), it is a system so sprawling, “a tangle of thousands of disparate, obsolete, largely incompatible accounting and business-management systems,” that no one can do a complete audit at any given time.

Chart of Pentagon spending, 2001-2021.

Pentagon spending, 2001-2021. More than twice what it was before 9-11 and heading back up.

As recently as December of 2016, the suppression of an internal Pentagon study revealing $125 billion in fraud and waste was exposed. Yet it is typical of the “strain at a gnat, swallow a camel” ways of right wingers, ever ready to get their blood a-boiling over food stamp cheaters, to give our finest a pass when it comes to the boys in uniform and all the hanger-on swindlers they attract like magnets.

Our dear Commander is no exception. Being someone who loves firetrucks and things that go boom, he has proposed throwing another $80 billion at it, a 13% increase for Fiscal 2019 and nearly the same for 2020.

Worse yet, he has signed off on a recent US Nuclear Policy Review plan to “clarify” that “the United States has never adopted a no first use policy and, given the contemporary threat environment, such a policy is not justified today. It remains the policy of the United States to retain some ambiguity regarding the precise circumstances that might lead to a U.S. nuclear response.”

What they mean by “ambiguity” is that the US retains the right to use nuclear weapons at any time for any reason. Furthermore, these weapons now refer to re-classifying mini-nukes as conventional weapons, a policy Israel has already been deploying in their war on Syria. The idea that this could not easily lead to an escalation into the use of the biggest bombs in our arsenal in the heat of war is just pure fantasy.

Analysis Paralysis

There is a phenomenon found in the Scriptures, something I call Analysis Paralysis, a condition wherein people can look at the exact same situation and come to two completely opposite conclusions. Probably the most famous was when Jesus predicted the Jews would lose their Temple and city for their rejection of Him as Messiah (Lu 19:41-44). Not surprisingly when it came to pass, the Pharisees claimed it was the result of the people not listening to them, a stance they have retained to this day and why they don’t believe in the last days Bible prophecies, characterized as they are by the huge disaster Israel is making for itself.

Another example happened during Jeremiah’s day. After decades of warning the people that their idolatry and mixed religion would bring God’s judgment down upon them in the form of the Babylonians, Jeremiah’s warnings came to pass when Nebuchadnezzar besieged Jerusalem for the third and final carrying away to Babylon (Jer 39).

Jeremiah has to be one of the most abused heroes of the Bible. After 40 years of preaching, being ignored then vindicated, the remnant who were not carried off then kidnapped him and dragged him down to Egypt. And this they did after first asking for his counsel! God told Jeremiah they were not sincere and would ignore his advice to stay in the land (43:8).

After this, the Lord told him that the Jews were still burning incense to their idols (44:8), and because of this the remnant would be destroyed too. And what was their response?

16As for the word that thou hast spoken unto us in the name of the Lord, we will not hearken unto thee.

17 But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.

18 But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.

That’s right. Going by mere circumstances, they came to the exact wrong conclusion! That’s Analysis Paralysis.

If I haven’t made it clear enough these years, the biggest concern I have is with the slow train wreck apostasy going on in the Body of Christ. At least they know Who the Savior is, but they’re in danger of receiving “another Jesus” and “another Gospel” to their own destruction (II Cor 11:4).

Since the late 1970s, what have we heard as endless mantra from the Christian Right? They have constantly lectured the country on the importance of character in our political leaders, claiming to be the experts on recognizing it. They have loudly proclaimed themselves “values voters” (as if no one else is), with a near-exclusive monopoly on morality, rooted in the dispassionate and uncomplicated subject of sex no less.

But when a man comes along who seems to be the very embodiment of immorality (“that man of sin”? – II Thess 2:3), they “give him a mulligan” when it comes to paying off porn stars, seeking his own profit at the expense of national security, and much, much more. Is there anything holy about any of this?

While 60% of the public disapprove of his job performance, a solid majority of the purported People of God don’t. And since judgment must first begin at His house (I Pe 4:17), what do you think of the sentiment common in Church circles that, “God put this man in power”?

Yes, I agree. But the question is, “To save us or to destroy us”? Certainly he is a test from God, and one we the so-called experts, are wildly failing.

Update: August, 2020:

In spite of my insistence that stupidity is neither spiritual nor virtuous, it seems to be the way of all flesh in the era of Trump: “Americans Want To Be Free To Be Stupid.”

Notes:

[i] Interestingly enough, at the end of 2016 and that stolen election there were three super moons, on Oct. 16, Nov. 14 and Dec. 14. The one right after Trump was elected was the largest since 1948 the year Harry Truman recognized the state of Israel and gave legitimacy to their highly-engineered, globally-unpopular UN mandate. https://www.wrmea.org/1991-may-june/truman-adviser-recalls-may-141948-us-decision-to-recognize-israel.html

[v] Cambridge Analytics is a company now controlled by Zionist oligarch Robert Mercer. https://thezog.info/who-controls-donald-trump/. (He’s about half way down.) Steve Bannon was on the board and that probably explains his sudden rise to the top of the administration at the first. Cambridge has a huge database of American voters to which has been added lots more information gathered about people gleaned from Facebook and other sources. All in all about 5000 different metrics are used to deliver stories designed to “push people’s emotional buttons” at certain key times. Some are even made up designed to smear opponents, the literal definition of “fake news” Donald Trump used like a hammer.

[vii] Does this passage remind you of anyone you might know? Someone you might greatly admire?

[viii] Know for a certainty that this verse describes the United States at the end of this process and New York City in particular.

[ix] The devil is in the details with this subject. Yes, it is true that bureaucracies can become regulation-happy as a way of justifying their own existence and budgets. The key to good government here is in “just enough,” just enough to protect the public from predators and irresponsible institutions but not overdo it.

[x] This trend began around 1973 when the Trilateral Commission did a study to find out why the masses “didn’t know their place” in the 1960s will all those protests, etc. Their conclusion? They were “overeducated,” about as ridiculous a contradiction as one could come up with.
