My country is a complete and total fraud. It is run by sadistic mad men who insist that up is down and down is up. They live in a world of total fantasy and delusion. They spare not to indulge in the deepest depths of self-righteous indignation while denying their behavior has anything to do with our being hated around the earth. They break every law of Nature and Nature’s God while shamelessly quoting the Founding Fathers. My country is the United States of America, the “Great Babylon” of the book of Revelation.
As I write we are hardly five weeks into 2012 and already two events offer symbolic witness of how deep this country’s delusion runs. On January 24 President Barak Obama opened his State of the Union address with, “We gather tonight knowing that this generation of [military] heroes has made the United States safer and more respected around the world…Imagine what we could accomplish if we followed their example.”
We already do, and the wave of global revulsion continues to boil over. The very morning the President made this speech a U.S. military court spared a Marine sergeant any jail time for the execution of 24 unarmed Iraqi men, women, children and elderly in Haditha in 2005 following an IED attack. Shot in the head and chest at close range, their only crime was that they were in the wrong place at the wrong time—in their own homes in their own country in the 21st Century. The sergeant was convicted of one count of dereliction of duty and took a cut in pay. The other seven accused had been acquitted, some in exchange for testimony wherein they admitted that such massacres were common. They testified that the sergeant had urinated on one of the corpses. The Taliban use YouTube urination videos in their recruiting efforts.
Safer and more respected indeed. Of the seven Pentagon brass sitting there listening to such boiler plate American jingoism, I wonder if even a one of them will vote to re-elect the President anyhow. To these military elites at the top of the American Tower of Confusion, Barak Obama can never be tough enough, only a fellow fire-breathing, chest thumping right winger like themselves. They may get their wish. The coming American Antichrist will be a big right winger, maybe a military dictator, or as I argue in my book American Babylon, American Antichrist, possibly even an Israeli leader called in during a contrived state of emergency to defend “Judeo-Christian civilization.”
The second incident was the recent Super Bowl—the New York Wall Street Giants vs. the Cradle of Liberty New England Patriots. The Giants won because the Patriots kept dropping passes and couldn’t recover fumbles. They were led by a man named Tom after the one Apostle who was known for his doubting, while New York was led by a man named Eli, Israel’s first high priest who could never seem to bring his sons under control. Eli symbolized the spirit of permissiveness, that great vice the right wing loves to accuse the poor and powerless of, and decadence given his weight management problem (I Sam 4:18). As God says of Babylon in Jeremiah 50:11, “…ye are grown fat as the heifer at grass, and bellow as bulls [on the airwaves].” Call me a mystic if you like, but I can’t help reading little Divine communiques into incidents like these.
Two Nations That Think They’re So Exceptional

The Bible confirms what common sense tells us, that it’s the actions of governments in the last days and the forces that control them that are hurtling the earth toward a living hell, and there are none more culpable in this than that of Israel and the United States. America’s shadow government does indeed think it can literally create its own reality through the power of deception, and now that conceit has spread throughout the elected government as well. But in God’s world black is black and white is white. Thus it is and ever shall be.
America today functions like one big cult, complete with the three biggest features that characterize all cults—authoritarian rule rather than exemplary leadership, ridiculous dogma rather than facts and rational doctrine, and distrust of the outside world. They decry the hostility of the rest of the world even as they freely indulge in the most brutal of aggressions against it. Even as I write, the United States, with a thousand military bases on foreign soil, assassination teams stationed in 120 nations, and a hundred invasions under its belt since the 1890s has surrounded Iran, a nation who hasn’t invaded a neighbor since 1785, with nearly 30 military bases and two aircraft carrier armadas sailing in Iranian waters. Who is threatening whom here?
Much of this war of words is due to the influence of the infamous Israel Lobby over official Washington and the U.S. media, and its relentless neo-con riding of American foreign policy. Iran is their latest object of interest and thus we are enduring an incessant psy op that Iran is building a nuclear bomb. This in spite of admissions that there is no evidence of such by United Nations weapons inspection teams, the American CIA Director, and even a January, 2012 Israeli intelligence assessment! Yet on February 9, 2012, NBC News broke a story about the Israelis training members of MEK, a fringe Iranian Marxist/Islamist cult on the State Department’s terrorist list, to assassinate Iranian nuclear scientists.
They weren’t alone in this of course. According to Pulitzer Prize winning reporter Seymour Hersh, the U.S. Joint Special Operations Command also spent years training MEK commandos in the Nevada desert to overthrow the Iranian government. All this agitation against a people the Persians, who saved the Jews from extinction twice in their history. Today, 20,000 Jews still live in Iran unmolested and have been there since the days of Esther. They have a seat guaranteed to them in the Iranian Parliament. Amadinejad has no real power in Iran compared to the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and his mullahs who continually rule that the use of nuclear and chemical weapons is a sin in Islam. And yet Israel still does all it can to stir up this pot.
In a interview in The Nation and Haaretz, Israel’s most famous novelist and moral conscience David Grossman recently said:
He [Netanyahu] has this idea that we are the people of eternity, am ha’netzach from the Bible, and our negotiations, as he sees it, are with eternity, with the primal currents of history and mankind, while the United States, with all due respect, is just another superpower like Rome or Athens or Babylon, and we’ve survived them all,” said Grossman. “I’m afraid that this way of thinking might encourage Netanyahu to take the step” of attacking Iran.
There are two things to note here. Yes, Benjamin Netanyahu does indeed see Israel as exceptional too, even more so than the United States sees herself. But no, the US is not just one more superpower to survive. Why do you need to “survive” someone that almost completely has your back? A quiet transformation has been going on in recent decades, and Israel has become the tail wagging the American dog due to the near-total control of Washington by the grasping Israel Lobby. Moreover the “exceptionalisms” of these two powerful nations may be based in Christian ideology (or Masonic, depending on who you ask) on America’s part, and Talmudic in Israel’s, but because of them neither nation feels obligated to play by the rules the rest of the world does.
For the moment their parallel ambitions in the Middle East have created a fatal attraction between the two. Yet according to the end times prophecies, all this effort to hijack American power here and play nuclear chicken with the rest of the world abroad is destined to blow up in Israel’s face. God is setting up a lobster trap for both nations with a grand finale face off between a U.S./NATO led coalition from the West and a similar coalition of nations from the East. And this trap will not be taking place in Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq or anywhere else, but right in Israel’s own back yard—the Valley of Megiddo—at the prophesied Battle of Armageddon (Rev 16:16; Joel 3:2;12-16). The US/Israel may even use nuclear weapons (Eze 38:22) on these invading 200 million soldiers from the East (Rev 9:16), but enough will get through as to nearly wipe Israel off the map in a parallel Battle of Jerusalem (Zech 14:2). At that time, only the return of Jesus Christ to rescue her will save a much-chastened remnant (14:3,4).
The prophet Isaiah warned Israel of this last days attitude of hers, reading her mind with, “We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge [the whirlwind of global chaos culminating in Armageddon] shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves” (Isa 28:15). In other words, “we can talk our way in and out of anything.” The Mossad’s official slogan, “Through deception thou shalt wage war,” is an admission right out in the open bearing witness to this latter day refuge in lies and falsehoods.
God could have said the exact same thing to America as well of course, for there is no bottom to America’s own faith in lies and deception as a policy of state. It is the United States that invented that arrogant phrase “plausible deniability” that bald-facedly declares we couldn’t care less about whether a charge is true or not, just as long as our denials sound “plausible.” They act as if their mothers never caught them with their hands in the cookie jar. But God and the earth are taking notes all the same.
I’m Fighting For My Sanity, How About You?
Worse yet, I am an American Christian. Church people in this country believe they have some kind of a monopoly on morality yet we are truly the blindest of all. Christians here are at the least indifferent to the crimes of our ruling class, and at the most, their worst enablers. We simply have no sense of judgment or proportion. We are expert in straining out gnats while swallowing camels. Without missing a step, we will turn from the most ignorant fawning over the worst of criminals and Social Darwinists to turning on the poorest, the weakest and the most vulnerable in our midst, berating them for the smallest faults with virtually no ability to empathize. We are a disgrace to the teachings of the Son of God.
A good part of this deception is due to what I call the myth of America. Christians may console themselves with the fact that the Pilgrims did indeed dedicate this new world to God and that Americans have overwhelmingly identified with the Christian faith from its beginning. The problem is that America’s elite families have by and large controlled the country also from the beginning, and they have been influenced by a different version of American Exceptionalism—the idea that America was to be a grand occultic experiment, bringing the glories of Masonic and esoteric “truth” to the rest of humanity, whether humanity wants it or not.
While the world decries this shameless juggernaut, there is a gnawing fear that it is a losing cause against a force with such military and technological power at its disposal. In the light of such temptation to despair, I would like to offer hope from a most unlikely quarter—the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
Yes, it is an irony (literally) of Biblical proportions that so many people in our time have eyes to see what American Christians at least, seemingly cannot. The Bible foretold in detail centuries ago the coming of an end time “Great Babylon,” a beastly empire that would “devour the whole earth” and “break [it] in pieces” (Dan 7:23), a perfect description of our “Shock ‘n Awe”-pounding, depleted uranium-dropping military capers. It describes the resistance that begins to coalesce into a “kings of the East” alliance that eventually rallies to fight against an American-led NATO in a northern Israeli valley. It predicted that so much of American Dominionist Christianity would become a “great whore” that God would spew out of His mouth (Rev 3:16). And it describes how God is going to offer His Millennial reign and New Heavens and Earth to a faithful remnant that bring in a great global harvest (Rev 7:9,14).
